Motorcycling safely - a motorcycle riding program
More advanced cornering
- Approaching
a fast curve, looking through it, counter steering and using the
throttle to power the bike through the curve, legs gripping the tank.
Arms bent and relaxed.
-
Braking and choosing the correct gear before the corner.
- Choosing
a good line through a curve with particular reference to not cutting
in too early.
- Checking
for tell-tail signs of loose material or slippery surfaces before
dropping the bike
- Dropping
the motorbike lower and lower while tipping your head in the opposite
direction to allow a 'level' view of the corner.
-
Adjusting the amount of throttle to match the available traction.
